Our Cacao Beans

Our Beans’ Journey

Our cacao beans come from 4 origins of Thailand: Chang Mai, Chantaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, & Chumpon. We are on a quest to promote Thai cacao beans and foster a new culture of Thai chocolate, the founders strive to improve it's sustainability. The adventure of the founders in the country side of Thailand directly lead them to the inception of Kad Kokoa.

Thai Cacao

  • Chumphon

Chumpon, the gateway to the south of Thailand, accommodates the Horticultural Research Centre responsible for the research and development of national robusta coffee, coconuts, and cacao beans.

  • Chiang Mai

Organic cacao beans from a private contracted farm of ours in Pa Pae, Mae Tang, Chiang Mai, are made into craft chocolate bars. You will taste slight floral notes, and a delicate exotic fruitiness in the background of a strong earthy body.

  • Chantaburi

Chantaburi province is located in the east of Thailand bordering Cambodia, extending down to the Gulf of Thailand. The beans from Chantaburi have unique characteristics of dried tropical fruits and brown sugar

  • Prachuap Khiri Khan

Located in the narrowest part of the south of Thailand, the province is famous for its pineapple and coconut plantations. The cacao beans we buy directly from the farmer there provide us with a flavor unique to the region. Bright fruitiness, very citrusy and intense mouthfeel, smooth floral aftertaste.

The Innovation Center For Research And Development Sustainable Thai Cacao

ISTC has partnered with the Fine Cacao and Chocolate Institute (FCCI), an academic consortium, that aims to provide rigorous research-based assessment and provoke socially-mindful debate on the cacao and chocolate supply chain. FCCI works to reduce information asymmetry among the industry's stakeholders, mainly focusing around the needs of producers and workers.

ISTC will officially open to the public for subscription in order to provide knowledge, information and activities to its members along with networking events to bring all farmers and producers under-one-roof to share and impart knowledge.
